The Game- Dead People (Prod. by Dr. Dre)

It’s nice to hear some more hot production from Dr. Dre.  Lately, most of the songs Dre has appeared on as a guest artist are produced by other producers.  Needless to say, I’m excited to hear more Dre directed tracks. Let’s hope he releases more productions from his growing vault of unreleased material.

I bring to you Dead People by The Game, production courtesy of The Good Doctor (Dr. Dre).

Peace Ya’ll

MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK +: Iamsu!- “Kilt: Deluxe Edition”

Iamsu!- "KILT"

                                                                  Iamsu!- “KILT”

The newest MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK + comes from Bay Area rapper Iamsu!.  This mixtape was released earlier this year, but I love it to death.  Definitely party friendly.

Iamsu! has been successfully paving his way into the rap industry within the last year.  He has been featured on E-40’s hit “Function” and Loverance’s smash single “Up.”

Enjoy my favorite video and song from the mixtape…“211”

PEACE YALL’

MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK +: Leon Swanks- “Purple Palm Trees”

This week I’m bringing you a mixtape from last year by Leon Swanks, a rapper representing Tacoma, Washington.  “Purple Palm Trees” is super hot and futuristic with beats from his homie Khris P.  I’ve been following Leon’s music for little over a year and he never disappoints.  Please take the time to download and listen to Leon’s mixtape, you will love yourself forever for not sleeping on this one!

Enjoy!

MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK +: Taz Arnold- “Rad America”

This week’s MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK + is up.  “Rad America” by Taz Arnold is a psychedelic soundscape that is not for the average music listener, but if you are the average music listener then I challenge you to listen to this mixtape.  My favorite and in my opinion the best track from this tape is “Let Me See (What You On Girl).”  This track has a jazzy feel reminiscent of 90’s backpack rap.  Regardless, if you are an artistic, creative individual who can appreciate art in its many forms, then you will appreciate this music.

Enjoy!

Game “Celebration” ft. Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa & Lil Wayne

Taking the time to drop this video.  Love the song, everyone’s having a good time in the video, all the rappers are on point. Wiz’s lines are short, and the Bone Thugs sample is sick.

MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK +: TYGA- “WELL DONE 3”

This week’s MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK + comes from Los Angeles’ own Tyga.  I can’t decide whether this is better than is last mixtape effort, “#BitchImTheShit,” but I’ll let ya’ll be the judge of that.  Love the Rachet sound sprinkled through this mixtape, and Tyga never let’s me down with his flow.  His lyrics could be better, but remember that sex and fun, party type music is what sells in this industry.  I’m not mad at Tyga one bit, and wish him the best in his career.  He’s doing his best to bring us hot music, and his Careless World documentary series on his YouTube channel, TygaTygaTV, proves just that.

Clyde Carson- “Slow Down” ft. The Team

If you haven’t heard this already, then you should have.  Slow Down by Clyde Carson is taking the West Coast by storm, and it’s just barely making headway in Southern California from its Bay Area origins.  Hopefully SoCal can get everyone in the clubs to dance to this the way they do in the Bay, with large groups of people all doing the dance and having a good time.  NO WALLFLOWERS! I’ve mastered the dance effortlessly, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.  Makes going out to clubs and parties more fun and less wack!

WHAT’S A WHOOP?

These kids in Southern California never cease to amaze me.  I’ve been trying to find out the true definition of a Whoop!  I have an idea, but if anyone can define it for me your assistance would be most appreciated.  I’m probably going to be using this word more often now.

HIT-BOY: THE I.E. HITMAKER

Born Chauncey Hollis on May 21st, 1987, Hit-Boy has since made his way as a successful music producer.  This Fontana, California native signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label in early 2011, eventually leading to Hit-Boy’s biggest single to date, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Niggas In Paris.”  His journey does not begin here however, but starts with a rap collective entitled “Surf Club.”

Hit-Boy, along with his fellow Surf Club members: Chase N.Cashe, BCarr, and Chili Chill, eventually caught the eye of Atlanta producer Polow Da Don, giving Hit-Boy the opportunity to make it big in the industry.  Hit-Boy has now worked with a variety of artists, including his co-production credit on “Why Did You Leave Me” from Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin project, a co-production credit on Lil Wayne’s “Drop The World” ft. Eminem, producing “Goldie” by A$AP Rocky and “Way Too Cold,” the DJ Khaled and Kanye West collaboration.

Hit-Boy also recently released a mixtape, “HITstory.”  The production on this mixtape is crisp!  I encourage everyone to check out this mixtape on datpiff, IT DESERVES MORE DOWNLOADS!!!  Here’s the mixtape link:http://www.datpiff.com/Hit-Boy-HITstory-mixtape.382062.html.  “Old School Caddy” ft Kid Cudi is my personal favorite song from that mixtape with its smooth transitions and old school flavor.

Hit-Boy’s newest heater to hit the charts is the G.O.O.D. Music single “Clique” ft. Kanye West, Big Sean, and Jay-Z.  I personally love that catchy, synth bass that plays throughout the song.  “Clique” may arguably be the hottest Hip-Hop/Rap song out, but only time will tell if it can beat the heights achieved by “Niggas In Paris.”

P.S. Hit-Boy’s Uncle, Rodney Benford, was a member of the R&B & New Jack Swing Group “Troop.”  Just thought I’d let you know.

Have a great WEEK!

MIXTAPE OF THE WEEK +: Ty$ & Joe Moses “WHOOP!”

Ty$ and Joe Moses bring us more of that Rachet sound, with production from DJ Mustard and other hot track makers.  If your on your “I only listen to conscience HIP-HOP” tip, then don’t bother listening.  To all the club goers, party people and dancers, this one’s for you.  Check out this mixtape here: https://freshcliniclife.com/music/mixtape-of-the-week/
